Many consumer products such as razors, toothbrushes, hairbrushes and power tools are designed with a soft, non-slip surface. The manufacturing process used to create this non-slip surface is called overmolding.

The process begins by the molding of a rigid plastic part. A thermoplastic elastomer is molded onto the top of this base part.
