Glazing (or back bedding) is a common term used in the window and door industry to describe the process for setting the glass into the light opening (any area in a window or door that has glass).
In the glazing process, a bead of sealant is applied to the frame or sash, usually in a dado or groove, and the glass is placed on the sealant. A number of sealant materials can be used to create an airtight, moisture-tight seal of the glass to the substrate that accommodates the variety of adhesion, expansion/contraction, and thermal characteristics of the components.
