Desiccant is used to absorb residual moisture in an opening or container. Desiccant is used in the window application during the assembly of the insulating glass production. Atmospheric moisture is trapped as the interior and exterior panes of glass are adhered to the spacer. The desiccant is applied to the inside of the spacer, allowing it to absorb this moisture, creating a dry air space. Without a completely dry air space, temperature changes will cause moisture to collect on the glass interior or cause the glass to fog.
